Shiyan Zheng graduated from Macquarie University with a Bachelor of Media in 2009 and gained his certificate in Directing at the Australian Film, Television, and Radio School in 2010.
In 2010, Shiyan wrote, produced and directed his first feature film, BRUSH, which on Best Picture at the LA Accolade Competition, Canadian International, New Hope International and Honolulu Film Festivals; and awards at the LA New Wave International.
His short film credits include writer on KETTLE (LGBT coming-of-age drama), MERCEDES BENZ: VENGER (crime/action), the Vimeo Staff Pick THE KEEPER (dark comedy/thriller); writer/producer on ISOLATES (sci-fi/action); and producer on SATAN AND HIS CAT (political satire).
In 2014, Shiyan wrote, produced and directed his first play, THE COUPLET OF BENGAL, at the Parramatta Riverside Theatre. In 2015, he co-wrote the Screen Australia funded web-series, AIRLOCK, for Deadhouse Films and SyFy Channel. The series won multiple international festivals and awards including Best Drama at DC Webfest and Online World Awards, Best Sci-Fi at Rome Web Awards and the Innovation Award at the Melbourne WebFest.
Shiyan co-wrote the sci-fi feature film TERMINUS which was produced by Storm Vision Entertainment and released globally by Vertical Entertainment in 2016 for Netflix, iTunes, Amazon and Google Play. 
He is currently developing the TV series THE SERVIENT and BLACK GOLD and several feature films including the horror HIDE with Intrepid Pictures (Oculus, Gerald’s Game), Bali 9/Andrew Chan biopic MERCIFUL with James Vernon (Hacksaw Ridge, Predestination), Vampire sci-fi DAUGHTER, crime thriller EPITAPH, gang drama CHILDREN OF THE WEST and comic book adaptation DEADWORLD.
